All workshops are led by Sense Writing's Developer Madelyn Kent, Somatic Specialist, Feldenkrais Practitioner, and former Faculty in Creative Writing at New York University. She has taught Sense Writing in cities all over the world, and at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Kripalu Retreat and New York's Open Center

2-Day Workshop in Brooklyn

Sense Writing I: Life Stories, Memory, and Fiction

For writers of all levels and genres.

In a supportive environment that integrates movement and writing exercises, you will learn to calm your nervous system, find lightness in your body, and mine your imagination, all while connecting to the core of your craft. 

  • Work with the nervous system to interrupt body and language patterns that inhibit writing.

  • Find pleasure in all the stages of writing.

  • Identify the natural craft that’s embedded in your own writing.

Sense Writing frees you from the thoughts you think you “should” be thinking so you learn to bypass anxiety, and create from a place of ease and pleasure.
